Global Storytelling CPD with Lis’n’Tell & 18 Hours

For teachers, storytellers and adults who love to learn about stories. Delivered by 18 Hours, Development Education Centre for East Sussex, in partnership with Louise Coigley, Storyteller and Speech and Language Therapist.
Explore how storytelling techniques support literacy and help challenge social stereotypes. A traditional story from The Ramayana is used to explore modern day environmental heroes and heroines from India to inspire children to protect themselves and the planet.

KS2/3 but adaptable for all ages

FREE stories, activities and workshops a-plenty on the Stade including:

1pm: Out of the Bag
Workshop for younger children – an interactive tale where nothing is quite what it seems.

1.15pm: Little Ida’s Flowers by Idolrich Puppet Theatre
Theatrerotto brings a Victorian playroom to life with magical puppetry in this enchanting Hans Christian Andersen tale.

2pm: Bollywood and Kathak Storytelling-through-dance Workshop
Why not try Bollywood and Kathak dancing?
Fun for all ages.

2.15pm: Wild Tapestry
A puppet goes on a journey to find the toymaker who created
her. For older children, young people and adults.
After-show storytelling workshop.

2.30pm: Carnival line up

3pm: India Reimagined
Carnival Parade Join our biggest ever carnival parade, with:
– Internationally renowned bhangra drummers, The Dhol Foundation, leading the Parade
– Amazing carnival costumes including guest carnivalists from the Isle of Wight
– Wycombe Steel Orchestra
– Dende Drummers
– Sambalanco
– Pan Up Steel Band
– Plus children from 9 local schools

3.45pm: Drum-off to close the day
